Mission
To provide an authentic gastronomic experience that brings people together through Brazilian cuisine, with a welcoming and innovative service, creating memorable moments and respecting Brazilian tradition and culture.
The Taste of Brazil was founded by Linalva Coelho. It all started in 1996 as Minas Carnes, then Banana Brasil, The Court House, Casa Brasil, until, after facing difficulties and interventions by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), Linalva created The Taste of Brazil, offering the experience of barbecue and home-cooked Brazilian cuisine.
In 2015, with the arrival of Weber Silva as a partner, the restaurant underwent a renovation, expanding its operations to Newark and Hillside, always maintaining quality as its central pillar.
The restaurant's purpose is to offer an authentic Brazilian culinary experience, promoting a welcoming and quality environment for everyone, with a special emphasis on Minas Gerais and Rio Grande do Sul cuisine.
Locations
Newark
The Newark location, located at 37 Merchant Street, has a capacity for 150 people and offers
valet parking. Opened in 2018 and renovated in 2019, the location offers an American-style
steakhouse experience, with decor inspired by Brazilian culture and references to icons such
as Ayrton Senna.
During the day, it offers casual, pay-by-the-pound service, ideal for quick meals. At night,
it transforms into a sophisticated environment, with a full buffet, excellent cuisine and
live music on Wednesdays and Fridays. On weekends, the sophisticated service is maintained
all day long. The team of 20 employees is dedicated to providing exceptional service and a
welcoming environment.
The full buffet experience includes premium meats grilled over charcoal, served directly at
the table, accompanied by salads, farofa, rice and sauces, ensuring an immersive and
personalized experience.
Philadelphia
The Philadelphia location, located at 6222 Bustleton Ave, with capacity for 110 people and
approximately 27 employees, was opened in 2008 and renovated in 2019.
It adopts an informal model, focused on quality and exceptional service, with a simple
all-you-can-eat menu and an affordable menu, respecting the tradition of Brazilian
steakhouses. It stands out for its pay-by-weight service and “to-go” options, meeting local
demand.
The location also offers event services, with personalized service. With a cozy and relaxed
atmosphere, it is ideal for those looking for a delicious and quick meal, while maintaining
quality and a unique experience.
Hillside
The Hillside location, located at 1259 Liberty Ave, with capacity for 44 people and
approximately 10 employees, opened in 2017. It adopts an informal service style, with a
family and cozy atmosphere, offering traditional steakhouse services, with a special focus
on selling by weight.
The location also caters to events of different sizes, being ideal for small gatherings,
family celebrations or corporate events. Committed to quality and service, it provides an
authentic Brazilian culinary experience in a welcoming and relaxed environment.
Our Menu

From the succulent fire-roasted meats of our Rodízio to the comforting dishes from Minas Gerais, each offering reflects the authenticity and warmth of Brazilian culture. We proudly serve signature dishes like Tropeiro beans, crispy pork with yuca, and a variety of hot and cold dishes that complement our Rodízio. And, of course, no meal is complete without a taste of our sweet desserts like the traditional Brigadeiro. Each location offers its own unique dining experience, but the heart of Brazil shines through in every meal, whether you're joining us for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner.
